LOCATION

The camp will be held at the luxurious Domaine Des Officiers which is located in the heart of the town of Vielsalm in the Belgian Ardennes, gorgeously situated between the rock formations, woods and hills. It will serve both as our accomodation and writing camp. This spacious location consists of several buildings, a parking lot, a courtyard, a large outdoor area and a private spa with jacuzzi, sauna, showers, massage and relaxation room. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. There’s a lake and a park within walking distance and there’s plenty of culinary options and cafés in walking distance as well.

 WRITING SESSIONS

We will be focusing on writing specifically for Eurovision (artists and songs to pitch) for 3 whole days. We had a lot of success at Eurovision over the past years, with 12 entries in 8 consecutive years and an ever expanding network. We'd like to continue down this road, therefore we want to share our knowledge, network and experience with you and get all of the best writers, producers and artists to this camp so we can write future (Eurovision) hits!

Each day we will be giving morning briefings and you will be put in a different session with other writers and producers (we’re aiming at 3 per session but it might differ). We will be going around the rooms throughout the day to help out in any way we can. It goes without saying that by doing this and having some of the best writers and producers with you in the room, you will be learning a lot and expanding your own network while doing so.

 TRAVEL INFO

We’ll be organizing a shuttle from Brussels Airport (BRU) to our final destination “Rue du Général Jacques 9, 6690 Vielsalm”, which will be a little less than a 2-hour drive from Brussels (ask us for the exact time schedule). Ideally you would travel directly to this airport, but there are more options...

PLANE, TRAIN, BUS,..

There’s a shuttle bus (1 hour drive) from ‘Brussels South Charleroi airport’ (CRL) to ‘Brussels

Airport’ (BRU):

https://www.flibco.com/en

Or you can easily travel by train, bus or car from neighbouring countries/cities like UK/London (Eurostar), France/Paris (Thalys), Netherlands/Amsterdam/Eindhoven, Germany/Dortmund/Berlin, Etc....

For example: it’s only 2 hours by train from Paris to Brussels and a little less than 3 hours from amsterdam. This way you can look for cheaper flight options if you’re traveling from far.

Here is more info on this:

BY CAR

There’s a lot of parking space inside our domain. Let us know if you’re traveling by car and/or want to commute, so we can link you to one another if we see any matches.

 ALL-INCLUSIVE FEE!

Not only are we offering a professional songwriting camp at a luxurious location with a relaxation room, but we will be providing for pretty much everything during the camp. This includes shuttle service, accommodation, recording equipment (producers will receive more details about this separately), food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks*). You only have to bring your laptop (or notebook) and get to Brussels Airport if you’re not coming by car, that's it!

* Non-Alcoholic drinks are provided at meal times, but there is also a bar open where you can purchase your Alcoholic drinks.

for a shared room we ask: 775 euro (need funding? read further down) for a separate room it’s: 950 euro (need funding? read further down)

NEED FUNDING?

If you ask around you should be able to find at least one organization or government program (on a national or European level) that helps creators fund their travel and subscription costs for attending (educational) songwriting camps (depending on their conditions).

Ask your PRO (Belgium/SABAM; Netherlands/BUMA STEMRA; UK/PRS; Germany/GEMA; France/SACEM; Sweden/STIM, Norway/TONO, etc...) but also ask other organizations that are there to help and inform creators. Here are some links to the PRO fundings:
